First Visit to Augusta Dental

In our practice, we don’t just treat teeth and gums. We treat people. You will be treated with respect, and your total comfort is our promise. In addition to providing you with the most advanced dental technology available today, you will receive quality, affordable, personalized oral health care.

For more information about our practice or to schedule a consultation with Dr. Salzberg, call our office in Fishersville, VA at Augusta Dental Phone Number 540-885-4589.

If your first visit is for a dental emergency, your examination will consist of an examination, taking appropriate x-rays, a review of your treatment options, possible emergency treatment, and giving appropriate prescriptions.

If your initial appointment is for a comprehensive exam, your visit will consist of taking appropriate x-rays, a full examination, and a review treatment options. Depending on the periodontal health, either one of our hygienists or Dr. Salzberg may be able to clean your teeth at your first visit. However, if there is the presence of periodontitis (gum disease), this may require additional appointments to provide you with the appropriate treatment.

We want your first and every visit to Augusta Dental to be a comfortable one. Overhead flat screen TVs, remote control and headphones are available for your use in all treatment rooms. Each flat screen TVs are attached to a fully adjustable ceiling mount to provide the ideal viewing distance for all patients. CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, ESPN, ESPN2, Disney, Cartoon Network, and over 100 other channels are available through our Comcast Digital Cable package. We will provide you with sunglasses (or you may wear your own glasses or sunglasses) as eye protection and to shield you from our overhead lights and Dr. Salzberg’s LED light. We also offer fleece blankets to provide you with extra warmth if needed and memory foam neck pillows if you need extra support. Your comfort is our priority.

Please assist us by providing the following information before your first visit:

  • Please contact your previous dentist’s office at your earliest convenience and ask them to e-mail your most recent full mouth series (or bitewing x-rays if no full mouth series exists) and panoramic x-ray (if one exists), along with a copy of your treatment notes. They can e-mail Melissa or Katie at [email protected]. If they are unable to e-mail x-rays or treatment notes, they can mail them to us. We ask that you contact your previous dentist’s office directly, because they sometime require that you sign an authorization to release copies of your records.

Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your first visit:

  • A list of medications you are presently taking.
  • If you have dental insurance, bring your insurance card. This will save time and allow us to process your claims.

IMPORTANT: All patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to treatment (i.e., diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) or if you are currently taking any medication (i.e., heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.).
